Library Policy
Every user of the Library has a right to use the library without unnecessary disturbance or distraction and has a corresponding duty to respect the right of other users. The regulations which follow are for the mutual benefit of all library users.
The Library welcomes everyone to use its facilities and resources for reading, learning and research purpose. Only for those who wish to be borrowers of the library are required to be registered as members.

1. Registration: Library users must register as members before they can borrow books from the Library.
There is an annual borrowing fee of $25.00. Teaching staff and students of TCI (The Catholic Institute of Aotearoa New Zealand), the Research Unit staff and Diocesan staff are exempt from this fee. Members are required to carry their library cards as it is part of the Issue system. Any change of address should be reported immediately to the Library.

2. Borrowing: Library members may borrow 10 items at any one time. An overdue charge shall be made on items kept out beyond the due date.

3. Loan period: Most items are issued for four weeks. All items borrowed from the Library are to be renewed or returned on or before the due date.

4. Renewals: If an item is not required by another borrower, it may be renewed twice.

5. Recalls and returns: All loans are subject to recall. They must be returned to the Library on or before the new due date given on the recall notice sent by the Library. Failure to respond to a recall notice will incur an overdue charge for each item returned after the new due date. Return all items at the Library Desk.

6. Lost and damaged material: If an item is lost or damaged while on loan to a borrower, the borrower should inform the Library staff . The borrower may be asked to meet the cost of repair or replacement plus an administration charge.

About Us
Library resource, facilities and service
Books and periodicals in the library are chosen to support theology learning, teaching and research work of the Catholic Diocese of Auckland departments.

As well as the general theology collection, the library also has particular strength in titles by Catholic authors, and learning resources for religious education programmes. To check on our library holdings, please click at the OPAC Search icon to use our catalogue online.

The library publishes a digital new acquisition list that includes all the book titles newly catalogued and the latest journal articles received every month. This is a free library service to anyone who likes to receive it by email.

Our Library is a charter member of the NZ Interloan Scheme, and an institutional member of LIANZA and ANZTLA.

For readers who do not wish to join the library but like to borrow from us, may approach their own local public libraries for the interloan service provided by us. All public libraries offer this client service nationwide.
